My role is to supplement the high school college counseling office by offering the following:

 

Sophomore Year

·      Individualized student assessment

·      Guide discussion on college admission testing

·      Assist in high school course planning

·      Help develop a campus visit checklist 

·      Provide information on financial aid and scholarship resources

·      Guide performing and visual arts students in building their resume

·      Guide student-athletes interested in playing collegiate sports

 

 Junior Year

·      Individualized student assessment

·      Guide discussion on the SAT, SAT Subject Tests and the ACT

·      Assist in college research and in creating a college list

·      Help develop a campus visit checklist and timetable

·      Provide information on financial aid and scholarship resources

·      Guide resume preparation

·      Counsel the student on personal recommendations

·      Guide student-athletes interested in playing collegiate sports

·      Guide in the supplemental requirements for performance and visual arts
majors

 

Summer Before Senior Year

·      Assist on essay topic selection and organization of essays 

·      Offer hands-on application workshops in a supportive environment 

 

Senior Year (New seniors not accepted after August 1.)

·      Monitor the application process

·      Continue to assist on topic selection and organization of essays

·      Review college essays and personal statements

·      Offer guidance on financial aid and scholarship opportunities

·      Coach on interviewing techniques

·      Help evaluate college offers 

·      Assist in planning post-acceptance campus visits

·      Educate the student on college life

 

Transfer Students

All of the above services are provided as needed plus additional assistance unique to traditional and non-traditional community college or baccalaureate transfer students.  Please inquire separately about fees.
